Dibujando Sueños

Art as a universal tool for social change.

As part of our social housing program, Construyendo Suenos, Casa Congo integrated the installation of 21 unique murals in the 21 bamboo homes. The atmosphere created by the artwork combined with the natural materials of the walls makes each home a unique destination on the map.

The murals are inspired by elements of nature that the children dream about and painted by local street artist Huston Ramos. Each wall tells a different story for each family and is a visual manifestation of the community traditions and aspirations.

Through a 90 day collaborative process with the families and the artist, 20 murals were painted in different parts of each home - from the bedroom to the kitchen or outdoor porch.

Some of these murals can be visited today in El Astillero through a community art tour.
